Education
- B.A. Art (General Studio Practice), San Jose State University Magna Cum Laude
- B.S. Wildlife and Fisheries Biology/Minor in Art, University of California at Davis
My art is inspired by nature, beauty, and animals. I love spending time outdoors and most of my paintings come from places I love, the way colors make me feel, or plants and animals that make me smile. It brings me peace and joy to stop and notice the moment and what’s beautiful in my surroundings. Translating those feelings onto paper brings me back to those moments.
Professional Experience
I earned my B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology and an art minor from U.C. Davis. After working in Humboldt as a Fisheries Biologist I decided to go back to school and get a degree in studio art. My work has been exhibited in Davis, Arcata, San Jose and Santa Cruz. I have taught summer camps at Art in Action in Menlo Park since 2006.
At CSMA
I've been working with CSMA since 2004. As a child, I benefited from being a student in CSMA's Art4Schools program at Theuerkauf School in Mountain View. I spent my lunch hour working on art, loved all the projects and the joy of making art!
