Donor Spotlight on
Robert & Jan Fenwick

The Community School of Music and Arts (CSMA) at Finn Center is honored to have the friendship and support of "Great Givers" Dr. Robert and Jan Fenwick.

"Jan and I are pleased to support CSMA at Finn Center because we know just how important the arts are in inspiring creativity and innovation," Bob recently told CSMA. "The arts expand our potential and ensure an educated, successful society."

CSMA is grateful for Bob and Jan Fenwick's friendship and longstanding leadership support of CSMA's music and arts education programs. The Fenwick's first gift to CSMA was in 1987 to help expand our facility, then located on Martens Avenue at Huff Elementary School. Nearly 20 years later, Bob and Jan continue their important involvement as Annual Fund supporters and generous Cornerstone Program donors to CSMA's $11.7 million capital campaign. As 2001-04 Capital Leadership Committee Co-Chair, Bob will forever be remembered for his instrumental role in securing the $2 million lead gift to ensure success of the Finn Center campaign, and for his introduction of numerous new friends and community members to CSMA.

A graduate of Purdue University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, and a M.S. and Ph.D. graduate from Stanford, Dr. Bob Fenwick is former Mayor and City Council member of the town of Los Altos Hills. Bob is co-founder of two publicly traded electronics companies, including BR Communications and On Command Video. He holds five U.S. patents, and remains active in the Los Altos Hills Emergency Communications Committee. Bob is fluent in French, a member of the Order of the Knights of St. John, and he along with his wife Jan, is a passionate San Francisco Opera goer and supporter.

A graduate of Middlebury College and Stanford University and a former elementary school teacher, Jan Fenwick has served as a member of the Board of the Environmental Volunteers and Foothill De-Anza Foundation. She is currently President of Los Altos Morning Forum. A supporter of environmental causes, Jan has also served as President of the Purissima Hills Water District Board of Directors.

At their wonderful hilltop home, Jan has helped Bob host inspiring events for: Bay Area Action, CSMA, East Palo Alto Kids' Foundation, Environmental Volunteers, Foothill-De Anza Foundation, Greenbelt Alliance and Peninsula Conservation Center Trust Fund.

Thank you, Bob and Jan, for your generous investment in CSMA over many years. You continue to be important friends and advisors, inspiring and ensuring the next generation's commitment to CSMA's mission of Arts for All in our region!
