Donor Spotlight :: Jan & Bill Terry
The Community School of Music and Arts is honored to have the friendship
and support of "Great Givers" Jan and Bill Terry. Their advocacy
and support continue to inspire CSMA's efforts to ensure that people from
all backgrounds have access to music and visual arts education programs.
"Bill and I are very proud to be affiliated with the Community School
of Music and Arts," said Jan Terry recently. "We feel that having
a permanent home for CSMA will help foster achievement of their goals on an
even higher level of excellence, and provide future generations of adults
and children with music and arts education otherwise unavailable to them." Bill and Jan are involved with CSMA in numerous ways. They are generous donors
to CSMA's capital campaign as Cornerstone Program members. Jan recently began
private lessons with CSMA's Music School Director Dr. Nicholas Isaacs. Bill
also donated his company furniture for the office of CSMA's Executive Director.
In October 2002, the couple opened up their beautiful Palo Alto home for a
student recital event to introduce CSMA to new friends. As a member of the Silicon Valley League of the San Francisco Symphony, Jan
is helping to establish a new collaboration with CSMA by bringing low-income
Music in Action students from Mountain View elementary schools to the Symphony's
Concerts for Kids program at Davies Symphony Hall. For many children, this
will be their first opportunity to hear a performance by a world-class symphony
orchestra.
Thank you, Jan and Bill, for your generous support. We are tremendously grateful
for all that you do to promote the arts in Silicon Valley.
