Adventures in Music Preschool Student
Laleh M. is a wonderfully social 2 year-old who loves to join in. In fact, she has so much fun coming to CSMA and playing music that she’s just re-enrolled in a second Adventures in Music class.
Adventures in Music is a family-oriented program where children and their parent or caregiver share special times together experiencing the joy of singing, musical games, and playing simple instruments. Taught by experienced early childhood faculty, the classes provide age appropriate activities that combine song and movement in an atmosphere that promotes learning and a life-long love of music.
Claire, Laleh’s caregiver, is enthusiastic about their Adventures in Music experience. CSMA’s class instructor “is wonderful,” and the child retains a remarkable amount of what she learns in class. “Laleh takes this home with her. She’ll sing the songs, talk about the kids in class, teach her little sister.” Laleh’s favorite songs are “ABCD” and “Shaking the apple tree.” She’s also very enthusiastic about being able to play “BIG drums!” with the other children in class.
The adults in Laleh’s life especially value “the social aspect and positive teacher-child environment” that she is able to enjoy at CSMA. Adventures in Music lets important adults in Laleh’s life participate in her early learning experiences as well. “This is something that we can do together” at school, which also teaches Laleh creative activities that she can do by herself at home.
Adventures in Music not only provides a safe and fun outlet for children to express themselves creatively, but it also stimulates brain and motor skill development in ways that lay important groundwork for social and educational advances once they begin school.
What does “arts4all” at CSMA mean to Laleh’s family? “Exposing all ages to the arts - different ages young to old.” Adventures in Music creates a preschool musical learning experience that simply can’t be duplicated at home. “We would definitely recommend it to other people!”
