| Originally from Russia, Nina Skekhtman
has studied piano performance, teaching, and accompanying. She earned
her BA at the College of Music, Irkutsk in Russia and her MA at the
State University, Vinnitsia in Ukraine. In addition, she has taken
master classes with Udilevich, Roschina, and Stenanenko at Kiev State
Conservatory; and Gornostaeva, Bashkirov, and Lelikman at Moscow
State Conservatory. |
| Performing and
Teaching Experience |
| Nina has worked as a piano teacher
and accompanist at music schools and colleges in Russia and the Ukraine.
In addition to teaching at CSMA, Nina teaches in a private studio.
Nina has performed regularly in faculty recitals as a soloist, in
duo, in chamber music concerts, and as an accompanist, as well as
in numerous music festivals and competitions. |

| Nina teaches piano lessons and chamber
music at CSMA, where she has been on the Music Faculty since 1999.
She regularly prepares her students for the ABRSM exams. |
| Teaching Philosophy and Approach |
| Nina believes in providing an "individualized
method to each student" and seeks to cultivate in her students "a
strong knowledge of music theory and history, and an emphasis on
musicianship and ensemble-playing." |

| Nina is especially interested in
the arts in any form: art galleries, museums, theater, films, music,
and reading. |
