Teaching Philosophy and Approach

My expectations of teaching music are based on the postulate “everyone has their unique way to approach and enjoy music.” I believe that my role, as an effective teacher, is to propel each student to think, to reason, and to develop his/her best technique through ongoing effort.

I also encourage the students to be curious about music history, theory, and aural training, because all these activities challenge students to have deeper knowledge about music and eventually to become independent musicians.

Personal

Eun Sook enjoys baking cakes so that she can share pieces of cake with people she loves. She is also interested in scientific research, inspired by her husband, a chemical engineering researcher at Stanford University.
