Private Music Lessons

Our multi-lingual faculty of more than 50 instructors with national and international credentials is ready to help you experience the joy of music. Private instruction is offered year round for the young and young at heart, for the beginning, intermediate and advanced student. At your weekly lesson you'll study with an instructor whose teaching method complements your individual learning style. We offer private lessons of 30, 45 or 60 minutes in classical, jazz, popular and world music styles. For some instruments CSMA also offers partner lessons for beginning level students.

To provide a broad-based and complete music education, CSMA offers additional ways to develop proficiency and knowledge. Your private lesson tuition INCLUDES your choice of a FREE weekly Core Curriculum Class each semester (except summer). In Music Theory, Instrumental Ensembles, and Peninsula Children's Chorale, to name just a few, you will join with a small group of students at a similar skill level.

Workshop Weeks

During Workshop Weeks, CSMA presents private lesson students with a FREE series of workshops and special events with guest artists and faculty members. Lessons and music classes do not meet during Workshop Weeks.

More about Workshop Week

Student Recitals

Periodic Student Recitals at CSMA and at other community locations provide an invaluable opportunity for students to give a formal presentation and to gain confidence in front of an audience of family and friends.

ABRSM Examinations

CSMA hosts and prepares students for the practical and theory examinations of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). Faculty select students for whom the ABRSM curriculum and performance challenge provide appropriate motivation and reward.

Free Concerts & Informances

We also encourage students to regularly attend CSMA's free concerts and events, which present diverse musical styles and artists. See Concerts & Events for more details.
