Speakup4arts
Speaking up for the arts is something that everybody can do!
Quality music and art education delivers a myriad of benefits. It not only enriches the “whole child” creatively, but also improves motor and communication skills, confidence and problem-solving abilities. Children receiving a quality arts education are more likely to do better in all academic disciplines and graduate from high school. Those who study music average significantly higher scores on the math and language portions of their SAT tests. And the visual arts bring every subject to life, teaching new perspectives and collaborative problem-solving skills that are essential to the 21st Century workforce.
CSMA believes that every child should have the opportunity to benefit from receiving a quality music and art education, regardless of socio-economic status. Please join us in speaking up for the arts for all of the children in your community!
How to start?
Take the first step and get involved! There are many resources to help you! CSMA has summarized key research benefits of music and art education for all age groups, business and the Bay Area community in our downloadable brochure: "Why Music & Arts Education?"

In today’s media-rich environment, children are more immersed in sound and imagery than ever before. This makes exposure to quality music and art education more important than ever. If we do not give children the understanding and tools to deal with this environment positively and benefit from it, who will?
